What is Elipse™?
The Elipse™ balloon is part of our range of weight loss procedures. It is an effective alternative for patients
looking for a weight loss treatment that is minimally invasive and non-surgical, with no endoscopy or anaesthesia.
How does it work?
The balloon is placed during a 20 minute outpatient procedure - no overnight stay is required. A capsule is swallowed
and filled with water via a fine tube. The tube is then removed and the balloon stays in the stomach for approximately four
months until it self-empties and is excreted naturally without the need for a removal procedure.* As with other gastric balloon
procedures, Elipse™ creates a constant feeling of fullness, allowing you to eat less without the hunger that accompanies
most diets. The food you eat stays in your stomach longer, reinforcing the feeling of fullness and enabling you to eat less
without feeling hungry.
Benefits of Elipse™
Elipse™ is a temporary weight loss aid; Your body adjusts to smaller food portions,
helping you continue to establish healthy eating habits that you can continue throughout life.
